This summer, Áras Éanna marks 25 years at the heart of island life and it’s well worth a cycle over to see what’s planned. Whether you’re into art, music, theatre or just curious to experience local creativity, the 2025 programme is packed with events that reflect the spirit of Inis Oírr.
From the exhibition launch on 12 July to a celebratory music weekend in September. There’s something on every week, all just a short spin from the pier.
2025 Exhibition Highlights
If you only make it to one exhibition, let it be Áras Éanna@25, a special anniversary show running July to September. Featuring artists who’ve passed through over the years, the exhibition includes paintings, sculpture and even currachs from past island projects. The official opening is on 12 July at 1pm.
Also showing this summer:
- Keith Wallace – “Rusted Rail” / The Plassey Project (from 4 July): A powerful audio-visual piece on the island’s most famous shipwreck.
- Holy Wells of Árann (May–October): An outdoor photo and heritage display in Áras Éanna’s courtyard.
- Old Aran in Colour (in Inis Meáin): A photo exhibition showing rare colourised views of island life.
