The Green Coast Award recognises beaches for their clean environment, excellent water quality and natural beauty.
With O’Brien’s castle as a backdrop, and views across Galway Bay to the Burren and Connemara, the beach is the ideal place to relax after your cycle. The clear water will entice you in for a refreshing dip. Even the sand is perfect. Fine enough to build sandcastles, but not so fine that would blow into your snacks 😊. Conveniently, the beach is only a hundred yards from the pier. So you can squeeze every minute out of your visit!
