Áras Éanna is at the heart of cultural life on Inis Oírr. This welcoming arts centre brings together exhibitions, crafts, music and theatre that reflect the spirit of the island and the creativity of its people.
You’ll often find exhibitions inspired by island life, including photography, sculpture and painting. The 75-seat theatre hosts regular concerts and performances, and visiting artists take up residence in the studios to create new work. Craft workshops and courses also run throughout the year, with basket weaving, and bodhrán among the favourites.
Áras Éanna is more than a gallery. It’s a place where islanders and visitors meet through creativity. Whether you’re into contemporary art, traditional skills or just want to chat to someone local, it’s well worth a visit. The centre itself is in a converted weaving factory, with views across stone fields to the Atlantic.
